Every Halloween, I love seeing pumpkins on the porch, cute little ghosts in the windows, and bowls of colorful treats ready for visitors. But there is always one little face watching all the excitement from the kitchen floor, hoping something delicious might come its way. You know the look! Those hopeful eyes could convince anyone…
Halloween always brings out the baker in me. Between pumpkin-shaped cookies, spooky decorations, and little treats for everyone in the family, the kitchen gets pretty busy. But one year, I realized that my dog was watching all the Halloween excitement with the same hopeful expression he used whenever someone opened the refrigerator. Naturally, I wanted…
Halloween in my kitchen usually means pumpkin everywhere, cookie cutters scattered across the counter, and enough spooky decorations to make the whole house look like a tiny haunted bakery. But there’s one family member who always wants to join the fun without getting a single bite of the chocolate cupcakes sitting on the counter: the…
Halloween at my house has always meant one thing: far too much excitement, a kitchen full of crumbs, and at least one dog sitting nearby hoping something accidentally falls off the counter. The first time I made spooky homemade dog treats, I realized how easy it was to make my pup feel included in the…
Halloween at my house has always meant two things: a kitchen full of treats and one very hopeful dog sitting nearby, watching every single move. The minute the mixing bowl comes out, those puppy eyes appear. Apparently, dogs have excellent timing when food is involved. One Halloween, I made a batch of decorated cookies for…
Halloween at my house has always meant pumpkin everywhere. Pumpkin on the porch, pumpkin in the kitchen, pumpkin decorations that somehow survive exactly three days before someone knocks them over. And then there’s my dog, sitting nearby, wondering why all the humans get special treats while he gets nothing. That’s how these Pumpkin Dog Treats…
Every Halloween, my kitchen somehow turns into a tiny bakery for the whole neighborhood—except this time, I decided the dogs deserved their own treats too. I started making these Homemade Halloween Dog Cookies after catching my dog staring at the cookie tray while I decorated people cookies. That guilty little face was impossible to ignore….
Halloween always looks a little different in my kitchen when a dog is involved. While everyone else reaches for chocolate, caramel, and bowls of candy, my four-legged kitchen helper usually sits nearby with the most dramatic “I have been forgotten” face imaginable. I learned pretty quickly that sharing regular Halloween candy simply isn’t an option….
Halloween gets a lot more exciting when you have a dog who thinks every kitchen activity is a personal invitation. I learned that pretty quickly after making homemade treats one October. The second I pulled out the mixing bowl, my dog parked himself beside me and watched every move like a tiny furry food critic….
Every Halloween, my kitchen somehow turns into a pumpkin factory. There are pumpkins on the counter, pumpkin puree in the fridge, and usually at least one curious little face waiting nearby for something to fall on the floor. One year, I realized I was making plenty of Halloween goodies for the humans but completely ignoring…
Halloween gets a little chaotic in my kitchen every year. There are candy wrappers everywhere, cookies cooling on the counter, and at least one very hopeful dog sitting nearby like he somehow got invited to the dessert table. That face gets me every single time. A few years ago, I decided to make my dog…
Halloween at my house has never been just about candy, costumes, and trying to figure out where all the chocolate disappeared to. My dog usually sits right in the middle of the action, watching everyone carry bowls of treats around with the most dramatic “What about me?” face imaginable. That look inspired me to start…
